The Director of Distance Learning (DL) ensures that online programs have a top level of excellence and distinction regionally, nationally and internationally to achieve student success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and applying innovative instructional strategies
  • Implementing program design, technologies and learning theory
  • Maintaining student and faculty support services
  • Working with faculty, clients and students
  • Ensuring that DL projects are completed on time and within budget

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. Degree should be in instructional design or related field. Experience as a faculty member is a plus. Minimum five years of experience leading collaborative teams in online and hybrid programs, with at least three years of direct supervisory experience, is required. Must have experience developing and teaching online courses.

Assistant Director of Distance Learning: Instructional Design (JobID #6004)

The Assistant Director of Distance Learning (AD) Instructional Design ensures that fully online and hybrid programs are on the forefront of practice in instructional design.

Responsibilities include:

  • The design and production of online/hybrid programs
  • Supervising the work of a Distance Learning (DL) instructional design team
  • Working with faculty across disciplines
  • Engaging with peer professionals in the CSU and at state, national and international levels

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. Degree should be in instructional design or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of educational and instructional design theories and emerging technologies is required. At least three years of experience developing online, hybrid and web-enhanced courses; experience supervising staff and leading and collaborating with project teams; and online teaching and training experience.
