Career outlook
With over a quarter of a million jobs in Los Angeles, the entertainment industry is one of the largest regional employers. However, the sector is facing a significant skills shortage, with 69% of companies reporting a lack of required competencies, according to a 2021 survey. The EIM program, set to launch in Fall 2024, aims to alleviate this shortage, graduating its first cohort in Summer 2026 – just in time to meet the anticipated deficit of about 40,000 workers by 2025.
